She/Her/Hers
Director of Community Based Programs

Kelly Sappington (she/her) is the Director of Community Based Programs at NAMI Chicago, bringing over 15 years of experience in behavioral health with a strong focus on community mental health. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Kelly earned her Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago.

Kelly is deeply committed to creating inclusive, people-centered systems that honor lived experience and promote healing. She values the voices of those most impacted by mental health challenges and works to ensure those voices shape both programming and workplace culture. Throughout her career, she has focused on building environments where every team member feels a sense of belonging and purpose.

Outside of work, Kelly teaches art on the weekends and enjoys a full (and furry) household with her dog and two cats, while celebrating her daughter’s new adventures in college.
