Chris Lozier is the Interim Chief Executive Officer of NAMI Chicago, where he brings over three decades of experience leading mission-driven organizations at the intersection of strategy, finance, and operations. He’s been a longtime member of the NAMI Chicago Board of Directors and former Treasurer, stepping into the interim CEO role in July 2025.
Prior to this role, Chris led the finance and operations teams at NewSchools Venture Fund, overseeing knowledge management, technology infrastructure, business operations, budgeting, grants and contracts, and legal functions. His career spans executive leadership roles in the education and nonprofit sectors, including Chief Operating Officer positions at the National Center for Teacher Residencies and Civitas Schools.
Chris began his career as a U.S. Navy nuclear submarine officer and later worked in private sector finance before transitioning to the nonprofit sector. He holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame.
Chris lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters. He plays mandolin and guitar with Hayward, his band of middle-aged parents, as well as a posse of slightly less-aged neighborhood bluegrass pickers. He also co-hosts two podcasts - If You've Come This Far and Pour It On - focused on making life more meaningful.
