Mental Health Awareness Month Proclamation
May holds a special place in our hearts. We celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month, and while nationally recognized, this month was not officially proclaimed in the state of Illinois. That is, until we submitted a proclamation to the office of Governor JB Pritzker to officially designate Illinois as Mental Health Awareness Month.
This proclamation is not just a symbolic gesture. It represents a statewide commitment and efforts in Illinois to expand mental health care, strengthen crisis response systems, and encourage residents to engage in stigma reduction efforts.
