Andrew Kaufman joined NAMI Chicago as the Recovery Manager in June of 2019, and transitioned to Sr. Manager of Recovery Services in April of 2022.  Andrew develops and oversees recovery programming, including providing leadership for the In-Home Recovery Support team, responsible for providing peer support services under the Williams Consent Decree as well as deliver support programming such Wellness Recovery Action Programming and Support Groups.

Upon earning his MSW, Andrew joined Advocate Illinois Masonic as a social worker focused on in-patient psychiatry. Prior to his arrival at NAMI Chicago, Andrew worked for the United Nations in the Netherlands providing outreach for victims of genocide in the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.

Andrew was born and raised in Highland Park, IL.  After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Business from the University of Arizona, Andrew went on to earn a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Texas Austin. Andrew is excited by the depth and reach of NAMI Chicago’s work in filling gaps in the mental health system.
